Plan a Vacation on the Beach in Spain

With a warm, Mediterranean climate and some of the best beaches in the world, Spain is the first choice for many when it comes to planning a beach getaway. The country is a vast one, meaning that it has beaches to cater to just about everybody, so, whether you are looking for secluded coves or water sports and other activities, these are some of the best areas to consider.

Es Pujols, Formentera
Located on Formentera, a tiny island that lies just south of Ibiza, Es Pujols is quite a bustling tourist destination, but still manages to maintain an intimate feel. The beaches here are white, wide and clean, while the waters are calm, making it ideal for families with young children. There are also a number of water sport opportunities, including kayaking and diving, while those who would prefer to stay on land can try their hand at a hike, or take a ride on one of the island’s many cycling trails. For nature lovers, a visit to the wetlands is a must, where you will be able to see some native wildlife, while those who prefer to be surrounded by people will love the cafés, restaurants and bars that line Es Pujols.

Langre, Cantabria
The beaches of Cantabria are known for their rugged, wildness, and Langre definitely does not disappoint. In fact, many would argue that Langre is home to some of the most spectacular beaches in Cantabria, which are surrounded by lush green meadows and sheer limestone cliffs. Its crashing waves are perfect for surfers, while its isolation makes it ideal for those seeking some peace and tranquility.

Costa Calma, Fuerteventura
With around two kilometers of white sandy beaches, which are surrounded by resorts and other facilities, Costa Calma is a great destination for those who are looking for some action and excitement. Its water sports scene is a thriving one, with everything from kite boarding to surfing to windsurfing available here, at both beginner and expert levels. With plenty of other activities to be found around town, such as Oasis Park, which is home to a large variety of different animals, this is also a fantastic destination for those who are planning a family vacation.

Tamariu, Costa Brava
For those who prefer beaches where there is not a high-rise building in sight, then Tamariu is the place for you. Although it is on the Costa Brava, which is known for its glitzy resorts and crowd-filled beaches, Tamariu is a small stretch of coastline that has so far been missed by development. With its small bays, traditional fishing villages, and beach side fish restaurants, this is a destination that feels quaint and pure. To top it all off, it has a number of secluded coves to explore, along with pine-fringed beaches, coral pink rocks and some of the clearest waters in the Mediterranean.

Spain is home to some of the most exquisite beaches in the world, each of them offering something a little different. Whether you end up in the wilderness of Langre or the fishing villages of Tamariu, each of these Spanish beach destinations promise an unforgettable vacation.
